AMT’s supercar meet up: The highlights

Row of supercars outside AMT

Some of the hottest supercars in the UK, made their way on Sunday morning to the AMT Specialist Cars showroom, just off Kirkstall Road in Leeds, for an exclusive supercar meet up. This event was in partnership with the Yorkshire Supercar Owners Club, featuring TV presenter and Youtube sensation, Yianni Charalambous and British Touring Car Championship rising star Bobby Thompson.  Ex-Leeds Rhinos and England Rugby League star Jamie Peacock also made an appearance.

With over 150 attendees, and 80+ supercars, this event was a hit. Some of the supercar highlights included, an epic black McLaren Senna – worthy of calling the Bat Mobile, beautifully presented on AMT’s showroom turntable. Yianni brought his stunning white Lamborghini Huracan Evo. Pani Pastou, 2016 Time Attack UK driver of the year and good friend of AMT’s Managing Director, Neil McGawley, brought a Yiannimized wrapped Lamborghini Aventador SVJ – we don’t see those often on the road, do we? And let’s not forget the deafening Novitec tuned Ferrari 812 N-Largo in the classic Ferrari red.

30 supercars convoyed from Wetherby to Leeds city centre, to an already supercar-heaving carpark. Everyone enjoyed the show while the UK’s craziest supercars formed a beautiful line from the back of AMT’s carpark, through Bingley Street and onto the main Kirkstall road. It was a sight to see– every petrol head’s dream. Members of the public joined to see the huge collection of exotic cars, while drivers-by looked over to see what all the commotion was about.

AMT also had a race simulator onsite. BTCC racer, Bobby Thompson set the lap time for guests to beat in order to win some amazing prizes, with a bonus prize of hospitality tickets to the BTCC Silverstone race.

Among the 80+ supercars were supercars of all shapes, styles and colours. From the 720S Mclaren in Yellow, to the super fun Ariel Atom. There were Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Audis, Porsches, Mercedes, Mustang’s, you name it – the list goes on.

Richard Marks, Group Retail Sales Manager at AMT Specialist Cars says, “This event was a roaring success. We had an amazing turn out with some very special cars such as the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, McLaren Senna and Ferrari 812, plus many more from the Yorkshire Super Car Owners Club.

“The event gained lots of attention onsite and on our social media platforms from start to finish. I’m sure the special guests Yianni, Bobby Thompson and Pani Pastou, all had a part to play in that.

“This type of exposure and publicity is very important to AMT Specialist Cars as we rely on the personal connections made at these events to grow the business. It’s time we let everyone know about AMT’s diverse suite of services from rent and lease to buy and sell.”
